Leeds indie Tilt Content is producing a Zoom based comedy series called ‘Film Club’ starring David Threlfall (Shameless) Shauna MacDonald (The Descent) Sophie Melville (Bang) Sayani Gupta ( The Good Karma Hospital) Roger Evans (Atonement) and Bonnie Prince Bob (Savior of The Union)

Film Club is billed as a black comedy that discusses a classic movie in each episode but soon degenerates into gossip, petty squabbles, recriminations and embarrassing revelations.

Directed by Philip John ( Downton Abbey, Marvel’s Iron Fist, The Good Karma Hospital, Wedding Belles) and written by Dean Cavanagh (Wedding Belles, Crime) it is being produced by Tilt’s Craig Lawson, who is talking to broadcasters and streamers. Philip John said “Film Club came about from a conversation with Dean about how it’s always interesting to hear subjective views on films and how those conversations almost always segue into other topics.”

Film Club will be scripted and partly improvised by the cast.
