Broadcast solutions and workflows consultancy, The Collectv, has appointed Peter Russell as its new MD.

Most recently Russell served as Director of Technology at ITV Studios, leading advancements in technical production across all genres including Entertainment, Factual, Drama, Daytime, Sport and News. His career also includes spearheading the digital enablement strategy at ITV Studios, directing post production and production technology at The London Studios, and leading technology operations at GMTV.

Russell’s appointment comes as The Collectv’s executive team transitions into C-suite roles. Commercial Director (and Co-owner) Soraya Robertson steps into the new role of Chief Commercial Officer, while Managing Director (and Co-owner) Chris Sarson becomes Chief Executive Officer.

“I’m thrilled to be joining The Collectv at such an exciting time of growth,” said Russell. “The company has consistently made a significant impact across the industry, earning a reputation for excellence that I’ve long admired. I’m looking forward to helping drive the next phase of growth and deliver solutions that meet the evolving needs of the broadcast and post-production industries. It’s a fantastic time to be part of this journey.”

In his new role, Russell will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the company, driving all business strategy and operations to maximise business potential and revenue growth.

Russell also serves on the RTS Digital Innovation Board, mentors through RTS Scholar Bursary Scheme, is Chair of the ITV Ambassadors programme, and is a passionate advocate of Rise.

“Russell’s reputation and proven track record in driving innovation, building high‑performing teams, and his outstanding technical and operational expertise make him the ideal choice to steer The Collectv into its next phase,” said Sarson.

Robertson added, “Russell’s deep industry knowledge and shared vision will be instrumental in executing our roadmap for continued growth and market expansion.”
