Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, her daughter Chelsea and Sundog Pictures founder Sam Branson have launched new indie, HiddenLight Productions, with an Apple TV+ documentary order in the bag.

Sundog Pictures will now be incorporated into Hiddenlight along with all of its staff.

HiddenLight Productions will be a global studio making content across premium documentary, unscripted and scripted entertainment for TV, film and digital that will “celebrate the best of the human spirit and help audiences see the world in new ways.”

The new business will be led by Executive Chair, Roma Khanna, and CEO, Johnny Webb. It will be based in London, New York and LA.  Khanna was previously CEO of Revolt Media and President of MGM Television Group and Digital, whilst Webb was CEO of Sundog Pictures and formerly Managing Director of the Living TV Group.

HiddenLight Productions’ first project is Gutsy Women, a straight-to-series order for Apple TV+, hosted by Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, inspired by their best-selling book, The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience. In Gutsy Women, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton will spotlight a diverse cast of trailblazing women, setting out on a quest to answer the question: ‘what exactly does it take to be a Gutsy Woman?’ Gutsy Women is Executive Produced by Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Johnny Webb and Roma Khanna.

In addition to Gutsy Women, HiddenLight Productions has a number of projects in advanced development.  Documentary production company Sundog Pictures, led by Johnny Webb and Claire Featherstone, will be incorporated into the new venture along with the entire Sundog team. Claire Featherstone will become COO of HiddenLight Productions.  The company is represented by WME.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, Founder, HiddenLight Productions, says: “For too long, attention has been paid only to the loudest voices in the room. There have been generations of change-makers who have shaped and will continue to shape our world – often quietly, flying under the radar. We are excited to launch HiddenLight to share the stories of leaders – celebrated and unsung alike – who are defying the odds and marching bravely forward.”

Sam Branson, Founder, HiddenLight Productions, says: “There has never been a more urgent time to ask and answer the big questions that will shape our future in the years to come. Now more than ever, we need stories that foster hope and bridge the divide to create a more united and solution-focused world.”

Chelsea Clinton, Founder, HiddenLight Productions, says: “The stories we tell and the experiences we share shape the way we see each other and help us understand our own unique place in the world. We are thrilled to launch HiddenLight to bring powerful stories of perseverance and persistence to the world. Our hope is that they will surprise, inspire and expand the notion of what’s possible as we work toward a kinder, safer, more just and equitable future.”
