Channel 4 has commissioned Fremantle’s Thames to produce coverage of The Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards 2021.

Hosted by Davina McCall, the red-carpet awards ceremony will take place in London later this year and be broadcast on Channel 4 and All 4.

Channel 4 has partnered with The Sun and NHS Charities Together to televise the Who Cares Wins awards for the first time.

The Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards were set up in 2017 to celebrate and thank the NHS and healthcare heroes, key workers and ordinary people who care for us.

Who Cares Wins is a 1×90’ entertainment programme. It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Phil Harris, head of entertainment and Tom Beck, head of live events and commissioning editor, Entertainment. The executive producers for Thames are Amelia Brown and Charlie Irwin.

Davina McCall said: “It is a total privilege to be presenting The Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards. We all owe so much to the incredible people who work tirelessly to care for us, it will be an honour to meet the winners and nominees and hear their amazing stories.”

Amelia Brown, MD, Thames, said: “We’re proud to bring this amazing awards ceremony to TV screens. It will be an evening of celebration for our healthcare heroes.”
