Tern Television, part of Zinc Media Group, has announced a raft of commissions totalling 35 hours including a Christmas network commission and returning series.

Multiple returning series are the life-blood for growth. It’s testament to a resurgent Nations sector full of talent, ambition and ready for more.”

Tern has been commissioned to make A Very Country Christmas (3 x 60 mins) for BBC One; and recommissions of hit series’ Inside The Zoo Series 2 (8 x 60 mins, BBC Scotland); David Wilson’s Crime Files Series 2 (10 x 30 mins, BBC Scotland); Britain’s Lost Masterpieces Series 5 (3 x 60 mins, BBC Four); Paul Murton’s Grand Tours of Scotland Series 4 (6 x 30 mins, BBC One Scotland and BBC Two); and a further year’s order for the long-running gardening format,  Beechgrove (26 x 30 mins, BBC Scotland and BBC Two).

Presented by Cotswold farmer and naturalist, Ellie Harrison, and country lover Angellica Bell,  A Very Country Christmas joins in the making, shaping, gathering and worshipping of three iconic regions of Britain as they prepare for their very own country Christmases.  In Yorkshire, Scotland and Cornwall, they explore how different regions prepare for this ancient period, according to local customs, culture and traditions, to celebrate differences but also the shared spiritual heritage across the United Kingdom.

A Very Country Christmas was commissioned by Daisy Scalchi for BBC One. It is Exec Produced by Harry Bell and Brendan Hughes for Tern Television at Zinc Media Group.  Inside The Zoo Series 2, David Wilson’s Crime Files Series 2 and Grand Tours of Scotland’s Lochs Series 4, were all commissioned by David Harron for BBC Scotland.  Harry Bell is Exec Producing Inside The Zoo Series 2 and David Wilson’s Crime Files Series 2 for Tern Television at Zinc Media Group, and Grand Tours of Scotland’s Lochs Series 4 for Tern Television/Gadabout.
