A big thank-you to all the guests, partners and sponsors who came to the Televisual Village Fete yesterday, June 23rd, and made it such a great day.

For the second year, the fete was set in the beautiful gardens of Regent’s University in Regent’s Park with 700 people from across the post and VFX community enjoying the five bars, three excellent street food vans, a table tennis tournament, a table football competition, a slot car circuit, giant wirebuzz, tetris and jenga, roulette, giant chess and a revolving photo booth as well as tech demos and a raffle with fantastic prizes, raising money for Medecins Sans Frontieres, with the guests enjoying each other’s company, and the games and activities, into the evening.

As you would expect, Televisual worked with the latest camera technology and workflows to capture the event (click on the main image to see the pre-grade film) including a Sony FX3 mounted on a Cyclops helmet (which has to be seen to be believed) and a Sony Burano both with the PDT-FP1 on board monitor / data transmitter showing camera to Sony’s Ci Media Cloud where we edited the wrap film as if on the other side of the world (but actually only yards away on location).

A very big thanks to all our sponsors for providing the food, drinks, entertainment and raffle prizes on the dayand making the event possible.

There was Televisual’s own twist on Pimms sponsored by Sean and Katherine at Editshare
Ice cold beer and wine from David, Chris, Liz and the Jigsaw24 Media crew

While Tyrell’s Bryan, Anneliese and Dan understand that a premium G+T is always welcome

Altered Images’ Tony and Nick sponsored the ever popular wood-fired pizza
Nick from Salon once more offered the poshest of posh dogs
And Big Pic Media’s Adam and Mia added truly authentic burritos and tacos to the menu

LucidLink’s Rupert brought the Table Tennis table, bats and balls
Sohonet’s Chuck, Damian, Liv and friends brought the Table Football League (won by Guy from AKA and Damian in a grudge match final)
Alistair brought an enormous slot car circuit all the way from the Elements’ offices in Düsseldorf
Andy and Cassie at Seagate brought a giant wobbly Tetris to test your mettle
Escape Technology’s Jason and Lee ran the roulette wheel
Marquis’ Jason, Paul and Liz tested guests with a giant wire buzz
Jigsaw24 Media’s Giant Jenga
encouraged guests to defy gravity
And moments were captured for posterity with Pixitmedia’s revolving photo booth

A special mention for the ever-helpful Guy from AKA who supported the event with logistics. And Nicola and the team at Avid for their generous support.

As with all previous years we collected for charity with our raffle, this year for Medecins Sans Frontieres raising money for critical humanitarian aid.

The raffle prizes included bottles of English sparkling loveliness from Arthur at FilmLight,  magnums of fizz from Guy from AKA, Simon from AJA with Marc from DigiBox, Matt from Digital Garage and Matt from GB Labs. Simon from Dot Group gave a magnum of Dom Perignon! Duncan from Tuxera brought a Finnish Hamper with three bottles of Finnish spirits and other goodies. Tanooki’s Klaf brought a kadai while CCK’s Carlo brought two of the latest portable WDC drives and Seagate’s Andy brought two more portable Lacie drives. HPs’ Dan provided half a dozen ‘Poly’ headsets. And Hiring Post’s DJ donated an iPad for the prize draw.

The party ran a perfect course closing just after the sun had set over the whispering trees reflected magnificently in the college windows.
