Louisa Sutherland-Smith, currently head of Production at Halo Post Production is stepping up to become managing director for the company from 1st April next year.

The role will oversee the whole of Halo’s UK operation and will focus on developing new areas of business, managing the company’s talent and partnerships, and deepening the company’s bonds with broadcasters and streamers.

Sutherland-Smith joined Halo in 2016 as an executive producer before stepping up to head of Production in 2021. She takes over the reins from Marcus Bayley who, having led the company since 2019, will return to his original role as finance director.

She has long experience in the post sector having started her career in 2005 at Aquarium Studios, a boutique sound house which first sparked her interest in the business of running a post facility. From there she moved to Prime Focus in 2010 as audio producer, quickly learning the skills required to manage the full post production of large scale series for US broadcasters, and progressing to senior post producer. Louisa joined halo post as executive producer in 2016, working within the sales team to acquire and run high end factual documentaries, including halo’s first UHD HDR series. In 2021 Louisa took on the role of head of Production.

Halo’s ceo, John Rogerson said “Louisa is perfect for this job and we’re delighted that she has agreed to take it on. Her experience and energy are exactly what Halo needs as the company continues to grow, she exemplifies the Halo ‘can-do’ attitude and is a natural leader. Marcus has done an amazing job and everyone at Halo is truly grateful to him for steering the ship through the pandemic and bringing us out the other side stronger than ever, he has earned the right to return to his preferred berth as FD. I’m really excited about this team, it is without question, the best we’ve ever had”
