Sports production and content business, Sunset+Vine, has announced a new, one-year contract with the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which includes serving as Production Services Partner for this year’s CPL T20 season.

Following their initial contract between 2017 to 2022, this year will see two Sunset+Vine crews working across the six islands from 29th August to 6th October. The crew is a mix of top international operators, who will work alongside staff from the West Indies.

For the T20 event, the Sunset+Vine team will manage and produce the matches for CPL, alongside other major broadcast suppliers: NEP, Hawkeye and WT Vision. They will provide coverage for 34 matches, played across seven cricket venues across six Caribbean islands and nations – Antigua, St Kitts, St Lucia, Barbados, Trinidad and Guyana.

These productions will be produced with 22 cameras per match, including Ultra Motion and Drone footage, DRS Ball Tracking – courtesy of Hawkeye – and Augmented Reality and Virtual Graphics.

As well as providing live coverage as Production Services Partner, Sunset+Vine will also be producing an extended, 30-minute pre-game show, live ball-by-ball coverage, a fully produced mid-innings and post-game show, as well as an extended highlights programme for the Caribbean Premier League’s broadcast rights holding partners.

Huw Bevan, Head of Cricket at Sunset+Vine, commented: “We are thrilled to be back producing the Republic Bank CPL T20 once again. We know that there are few cricket events that capture the imagination of cricket fans worldwide in a way that ‘The Biggest Party in Sport’ does! Our coverage will combine high-quality 22-camera match coverage, detailed analysis, and compelling features all packaged with a unique Caribbean flavour and style.”

Pete Russell, CPL’s CEO, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Huw Bevan and the team at Sunset and Vine to bring the CPL broadcast to all our global partners. Their production pedigree within cricket is second to none and their fresh approach to storytelling ensures that viewers around the world get to enjoy a unique window into the Caribbean at the Biggest Party in Sport.”
