Factual indie Sundog Pictures has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Nicky Huggett as head of development.
 
Huggett joins Sundog from Popkorn TV, where she also served as head of development for two years and helped establish the company’s development team. At Popkorn, she worked across a number of programmes, including the Cutting Edge docRich Kids of Instagram for Channel 4, which was later commissioned as a six-part series for E4. Prior to that, she oversaw the development team at Rare Day and helped secure its Channel 4 series Big Ballet.
 
Huggett has also held roles at CTVC, where she produced The Murder Workers for Channel 4, and Windfall Films where she developed the Discovery series Strip the City and the critically acclaimed doc Alex: A Life Fast Forward for BBC Three.
 
Sam Anthony, Creative Director at Sundog Pictures said: “Her expertise will enable us to push further into the documentary series space in the UK and the US.”
