Film and visual effects company Space, based in Media City, Salford, has delivered VFX for two shows at the start of this year: Quay Street crime thriller Missing You for Netflix and BBC One comedy-thriller Am I Being Unreasonable? produced by Boffola Pictures and Lookout Point, now back for Season 2.
Following the success of Harlan Coben adaptation Fool Me Once, which amassed over 61 million views on Netflix globally in two weeks in 2024, Quay Street Productions once again partnered with Space to bring the world of Harlan Coben’s latest adaptation, Missing You, to life.
“I was absolutely blown away by the work Space did for Missing You, specifically the fire sequence in Episode 5,” said Emily Brauders, Post Production Executive, Quay Street Productions. “Their attention to detail and ability to bring the scene to life was beyond impressive. Every flame, every spark felt so real and dynamic—exactly what we were hoping for. ”
Meanwhile, Space also played a key role in Season 2 of BBC’s Am I Being Unreasonable?, starring Daisy May Cooper. Having worked on the show’s first season in 2022, Space returned to craft the visual effects for all six new episodes, with their VFX work adding to the show’s surreal and darkly comedic storytelling.
