Audio post specialist, Sound Disposition, has opened its new boutique facility in London’s Fitzrovia, on Great Titchfield Street.
The centerpiece of the new facility is a Dolby Atmos mixing theatre, boasting 23 channels of custom Dynaudio loudspeakers and complemented by Barco Cinemascope 5K laser projection, and Trinnov room equalisation. This space supports Atmos, higher-order ambisonics, but is also compatible with L’Isa and Spat renderers designed to cater to mixing immersive audio projects.
The new facility includes an ADR Suite, configurable as a booth or same-room setup, featuring 4K laser projection, any-method session relay, and access to Sound Disposition’s microphone rental stock. “Ideal for round-table reads, podcasts, and with the option of sessions being filmed (with or without green-screen).”
The Fitzrovia studio has a Dolby HETV Mixing Suite equipped with 4K laser projection and 7.1.4 ATC monitoring; three Multi-Function Studios offering Neumann and B&W monitoring options and a client and bar space which doubles as an art gallery.
The facility is designed and built by Miloco, under the guidance of acoustician Nick Whitaker. The facility “prioritises sustainability” with construction using a “high percentage” of reclaimed and renewable materials, and all electrical and HVAC systems are optimised for low-energy performance.
The studios are all accessible by wheelchair, and a lift serves all floors of the facility.
Sound Disposition’s sister company Sound Rentals will operate from the new site, allowing clients a Central-London collection and return location.
Sound Disposition was founded by sound designer and re-recording mixer Roland Heap in 2008, Sound Disposition has worked on over 150 feature films, numerous TV series, and immersive experiences. Recent credits include Ted Lasso (Apple), The Sandman (Netflix), The Strangers (Lionsgate), Marching Powder (True Brit), A Town Called Malice (Sky), and Curfew (Paramount).
