TriForce Productions has been recommissioned by ITV to make a seventh series of its comedy panel show, Sorry I Didn’t Know 10 years on from its first outing on TV.

Originally commissioned in 2016 as part of ITV’s Black History Month programming, Sorry I Didn’t Know is the longest running show by a Black-led production company on British TV.

The critically acclaimed and twice RTS nominated series focused on Black history, (which is also everyone’s history), will air later this year on ITV1 and ITVX.

Returning to the hot seat as host is Chizzy Akudolu along with team captains, Eddie Kadi and Richard Blackwood. Richard, who joined the show last year, will once again go head-to-head with Eddie, his long-time friend and compadre. “The questions will be more intriguing, the answers even more outrageous and the competition and unity more finely balanced than ever.”

Filming will take place this summer. The previous season’s guests includes Adjoa Andoh, Susan Wokoma, Munya Chawawa, Stephen K Amos, Marcus Brigstocke, Angellica Bell, Richie Anderson, Oti Mabuse, Jordan Stephens, JB Gill, Babatunde Aléshé, Colin Jackson, Seann Walshe and Jamelia.

Executive Producer for TriForce, Fraser Ayres said: “We’re so excited Chizzy is taking her place again as Queen of the show. At 10 years and the 7th season, it’s an incredibly special one, and having been in every episode since the pilot in 2016 she’s the perfect host to shepherd us into this next chapter. We thank ITV for the support they give us to keep making this ground-breaking show, as it seems like a little bit of knowledge, and a lot of laughs, is needed now more than ever.

The seventh series was commissioned by Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning ITV, Katie Rawcliffe and Entertainment Commissioner ITV, Gemma John-Lewis. It will be Exec Produced for TriForce Productions by Fraser Ayres, Minnie Ayres and Jimmy Akingbola. The Series Editor is Delia Williams.

Sorry I Didn’t Know will be filming in front of a live studio audience in London this summer.
