The results of Televisual’s annual Commercials 30 survey are now out with Somesuch taking the top spot in 2017, the first time the company has made it to number one.

It’s been an incredibly creative year for the company with Daniel Wolfe’s #bloodnormal for Libresse and Kim Gehrig’s This Girl Can follow up for Sport England just two stand out spots.

Blink takes the second position this year in the overall 30 with Academy third and Rattling Stick in fourth place.

As well as taking the temperature of the sector, the commercials 30 survey asks production companies to vote for their favourite rival companies as well as their favourite ads, directors, agencies, post houses, editors and vfx artists.

This year, Somesuch was also voted as the most admired production company among its peers with Academy, Rattling Stick and Rogue voted joint second.

The commercials producers voted both Rattling Stick’s Clowns for Audi and MJZ’s Ostrich for Samsung as the best ads of the year.

Blink’s Douglas Wilson retained his crown as the industry’s favourite director.

The Mill took the top spots in the two polls of production companies’ favourite post houses, reaching number one in both the ‘highest rated’ and ‘used most’ votes. adam&eveDDB was voted best agency, Rich Orrick at Work was voted best editor and MPC’s Jean-Clement Soret was crowned best colourist.
