Sly Fox Productions has struck a first look deal with comedy writing partnership, Paul Mendelson and Paul Alexander.

Paul Alexander and Paul Mendelson met on the long-running BBC sitcom My Hero (pictured) and have been regular collaborators ever since, co-creating DreamWorks Animation’s Annie-nominated series Neighbors From Hell, which ran on the TBS Channel in the US and starred Steve Coogan as Satan.

‘The Pauls’ are represented by Nick Ranceford-Hadley of NRH Management.

Sly Fox Productions was co-founded in 2014 by Linda James and Tim Vaughan in collaboration with Acorn Media Enterprises, the production and co-financing arm of RLJ Entertainment. James and Vaughan previously worked together at Red Rooster Films, producing the drama series ‘Wilderness’ and ‘Without Motive’.  Sly Fox Productions sees them re-united to produce quality, prime-time drama and scripted comedy.

Vaughan said, “The opportunities in scripted comedy are considerable, provided you have access to the writing talent. We are thrilled to be able to forge this relationship with two immense comedy talents who have more than proven their worth in both the UK and the USA’”.

Paul Mendelson came from the world of advertising before moving to TV where he created primetime comedy for BBC1: May to December (6 seasons), So Haunt Me (3 seasons) and My Hero (6 seasons), all of which have shown in over 70 countries. His acclaimed ITV drama Losing It starring Martin Clunes was based on the first of his many broadcast plays on Radio 4. His most recent radio drama was a dramatisation of The African Queen starring Toby Jones and Samantha Bond.

Paul Alexander’s past TV work includes the Emmy-winning Red Dwarf, the RTS award winning My Parents Are Aliens and the BAFTA-winning Revenge Files of Alistair Fury (CBBC).
