Production company Slim Film + Television today announced that it has bought back all shares in the company formerly held by Seven West Media.

Under the guidance of the company’s Managing Director Simon Crawford Collins, the company returns to full independence with this acquisition from the Australian group.

MD Simon Crawford Collins said, “This is a very exciting time for Slim to become fully independent while we are full steam ahead on two major international productions.  We have had a great four years working with our amazing colleagues at Seven and we will continue to work with them as broadcasters and partners whenever the opportunity allows”.

Slim Film + Television recently launched Mystic a 13 x 30 mins family drama for CBBC and TVNZ. The company was able to complete filming eight episodes in New Zealand just before lockdown and will be returning to complete the next five episodes of series one later this year.

The company is currently mid-production with Around the World in Eighty Days the 8 x 60’ adaptation penned by a renowned team of writers led by Ashley Pharoah (Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, The Living and the Dead) starring David Tennant (Broadchurch, Jessica Jones) as Phileas Fogg, Ibrahim Koma (Je Suis Daddy, Mother is Wrong) as Passepartout and Leonie Benesch (The Crown, White Ribbon) playing Abigail Fix in an epic adaptation of the Jules Verne classic.
