Expectation has appointed, Morwenna Gordon as Executive Producer in Scripted.
She joins Expectation’s Comedy division as Executive Producer to work alongside Creative Director of Comedy, Nerys Evans during a busy time in scripted comedy: Intelligence (Nick Mohammed and David Schwimmer’s new sitcom) transmits on Sky One next month, while post-production is underway on Kayleigh Llewellyn’s BAFTA-Cymru winning series In My Skin for BBC Wales and BBC Three, and Sophie Willan’s BBC Two pilot Alma’s Not Normal begins pre-production in Manchester.
Nerys Evans said: “I’m delighted that Morwenna is joining us at Expectation, I’ve loved making Intelligence for her and Sky and found her to be a really collaborative and creative commissioner. Morwenna’s got fantastic comedy instincts and she is so well respected in the industry. It’s a real coup to get her to join us and I can’t wait to see what shows we make together next.”
As Commissioning Editor at Sky for the last four years, Gordon has been responsible for commissioning and executive producing original scripted comedies for Sky One, Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts. Her recent credits include Tim Minchin’s Upright, Sarah Kendall’s Frayed, Bounty Hunters with Jack Whitehall, The Queen and I with David Walliams, and the forthcoming shows Code 404 starring Danny Mays and Stephen Graham, Hitmen with Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, Intelligence, starring David Schwimmer and Nick Mohammed and Two Weeks to Live starring Maisie Williams and Sian Clifford. She’s also been responsible for a number of the award-winningUrban Myths on Sky Arts.
Before becoming Commissioning Editor Gordon was Development Executive for Comedy, developing the first series of Sky Comedy Shorts and working across shows including Mount Pleasant and Yonderland.
She moved to Sky in 2011 as Senior Producer on the digital team, working across a slate including Stella, Trollied, Mad Men and Game of Thrones. She also executive produced Sky Atlantic’s first series of the Game of Thrones fan show, Thronecast.
Prior to working at Sky, she spent 10 years at the BBC working in the digital department across Entertainment.

She joins Expectation in March.
