Scripted indie Sid Gentle Films Ltd has appointed Gina Mingacci as an Executive Producer.
The UK production company, responsible for dramas including SS-GB, The Durrells and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Killing Eve, has brought in the former BBC America exec to work across their development slate. She will also serve as Executive Producer on the second season of Killing Eve. Mingacci will be based in London and her responsibilities will include further building relationships with US buyers as well as working on the indie’s features slate.
Before joining Sid Gentle, Mingacci served as Senior Vice President, Scripted Programming at BBC America, where she oversaw a development team and slate of both domestic and international drama series, including the final two seasons of Orphan Black, and the first season of Sid Gentle’s Killing Eve.
Previously, Mingacci was Head of Scripted Television at Superb Entertainment developing comedy and drama scripted series for HBO, Fox, Media Rights Capital, Lifetime and Lionsgate. Prior to that, Mingacci developed and produced films for over 15 years through roles at Independent Pictures, Moxie Pictures, Woods Entertainment/Miramax Films and TriStar Pictures.
In 2002, she co-founded O’Salvation Cine, a London and Paris based arts lab and film production company, with filmmaker Harmony Korine and French fashion designer Agnès B.
Gina Mingacci said; “Sid Gentle has a proven track record for delivering high quality and engaging drama, and I’m incredibly excited to be joining their fantastic and creative team. They share my passion for storytelling, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Sally Woodward Gentle, Founder of Sid Gentle Films, said; “We are delighted to welcome Gina to Sid. Gina has an incredibly strong background in developing and producing impressive narrative content across both television and film, as well as a fantastic understanding of market and audience dynamics on a global platform. She will be a real asset to the team and play an integral role as Sid Gentle continues to create quality drama. We are excited to be working with her.”
