Script Angel, the screenwriter-coaching and talent-development company founded by drama executive Hayley McKenzie, has appointed BAFTA-winning producer Jane Dauncey to the newly created role of director of development.
Dauncey, founder of indie companies Machine Productions and Coracle Productions, will manage Script Angel’s expanding team of screenwriting coaches and the growing slate of writers under its guidance.
Dauncey has produced or series produced dramas, including The Level, The Trials of Jimmy Rose, Law & Order, Casualty, The Story of Tracy Beaker and Stella. Over the last 20 years, she has worked for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, Kudos, Hillbilly Films, Fiction Factory, Tidy Productions, CBBC and the Royal Shakespeare Company. As a mentor and executive producer, she has trained young drama producers in Cambodia for BBC Media Action. She also teaches at Glasgow Caledonian University, where she is on the board of the MA course in screenwriting.
