Scottish Indie Friel Kean Films has signed a two year deal with the BBC for 80 eps of returning BBC 1 recycling format Money For Nothing.

Separately the company has also agreed a development slate which includes £78,000 of funding from The National Lottery and the Scottish Government through Screen Scotland, the specific target of which is focused on winning returning formats.

Director Jules Kean said: ‘We are developing a new generation of formats that commissioners hopefully must have when they land on their desks and this deal allows us to showcase ideas full potential with a great sizzle!’

On the recommission, Michelle Friel says: ‘We thank Carla Maria Lawson and the BBC Daytime team for this commitment, which allows us to properly build on the brand going forward and push for even better shows into 2023’.
