The founder of Salon Rentals, Peter Long, died last week aged 87.
The news comes after the company recently marked its 50th birthday.
Nick Long, Peter’s son and Salon’s MD said:
“To all our amazing clients, friends and post production community,
“Myself, my Mum Sue, Nic Castle and all the team here at Salon are incredibly sad to announce the passing of my Dad, Peter William Long.
“Peter passed away peacefully at home yesterday as per his wishes with Mum and I by his side.
“He will be remembered for an incredible 87 year life that spanned printing, film production, distribution and post.
“Dad’s life was filled with hard work and lots of fun and with a constant dedication to building a company with a strong ethos based on caring for staff and customers alike and integrity that will carry long into the future. He was so pleased to have been able to attend our 50th anniversary celebrations recently and to see so many of his friends from his time in the industry; an industry he was so fond of.
“We will keep people updated with funeral arrangements as I know some of you who knew him well have expressed a wish to attend. (It will take a few weeks as we want to arrange an amazing send off.)
“Roll end credits.”
