Post house, runVT, has unveiled a second site in Brighton.

runVT opened its first Brighton facility 12 months ago, and has now expanded into additional space.

The new building, previously home to Virtual Post (who closed their doors in August), bolsters runVT’s picture and audio finishing services, and increases offline capacity.

MD Balvinder Singh Sanghera, who founded runVT in London almost 30 years ago, said: “With a ready-made building fit for purpose and the influx of new work on the horizon, it was an easy decision to make to establish a second site. When an opportunity like this presents itself, it’s difficult to turn down.”

The two facilities are both situated in prime locations in the heart of the city, whilst being fully integrated with the three sites in central London and the further regional premises in the North East.

“We’re truly independent, one of the longest-running post houses in the UK and arguably the most diverse,” said Head of Post, Paul Wilkes. “runVT is expanding, and yet we retain a boutique, family feel with a passion for developing talent. I think it’s these distinctive characteristics that have enabled us to be welcomed so positively into the Brighton broadcast community. As our footprint in Brighton grows, so does the opportunity for us to invest in and nurture local talent whilst providing a world-class service to established and new production companies in the area.”

Colourist/Online Editor, Ross Copeland and Dubbing Mixer, Pete Collins, both freelancers in the Brighton area, have joined runVT in full-time roles. Project Manager, Joe Tickle, who joined runVT as a runner back in 2018, has relocated to the region and will oversee all productions.  He said: “It’s been such a joy to see so many staff in established positions who began at runVT in junior entry roles. Now we are in Brighton to help newcomers to the industry outside of London.”

2024 also saw runVT introduce “Awakening The Mind”, a repeating 6-week meditation course, offered free to staff and clients “with the hope that it may aid them to feel inspired and more equipped to navigate life’s complexities with enhanced peace of mind, particularly as the broadcast industry undergoes unprecedented uncertainty.” The course will be made available to Brighton-based staff and clients.

Director of Operations, Happy Chhokar, who has spearheaded the drive into the South East, describes her approach to the expansion: “With the sudden surge of work in Brighton, our aim was to set up our second facility with the same ethos, look, and feel we have across all of our sites. In Brighton, we now have 12 x Offlines, 2 x Dubbing Suites, 1 x V/O and 2 x Online & Grading Suites with connectivity enabling full flexibility between buildings in the regions and London.”
