BBC Two has commissioned Rumpus Media to produce a three-part follow-up to its Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan series, Misadventures from my Sofa.

The comedian’s adventures have seen him visit nine of the world’s most off-the-beaten-path countries, taking in Haiti, Ethiopia, Albania, the Arctic, Zimbabwe, Mongolia, Bosnia, Columbia, and the Sahara.

In this new three-part series, Misadventures from my Sofa (w/t), he will re-live some of his Misadventures, reuniting with three of his co-hosts in each episode. They’ll catch up, revealing unseen footage from the series, sharing their experiences and looking at the highlights of their time together.

Romesh Ranganathan said: “I could not resist the opportunity to make a travel show where not only do I not have to travel anywhere, but not even leave my living room.

“I’m looking forward to sharing some insights about the shows that people will have not seen as well as catching up with my co-hosts, all of whom I received messages about being better than me when the shows went out!”

Patrick Holland, Controller, BBC Two, said: “Romesh’s award winning Misadventures have been a brilliant addition to the channel and I’m delighted that he’s revisiting these films, bringing unseen material and new interaction with his hilarious travel companions.  He is an essential voice on BBC2.”

Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment, said: “This series of Misadventures will be a chance to travel the world without leaving home in the company of Romesh and his brilliant co-hosts. We’ll see previously unseen scenes and revisit some favourites, all while catching up on how life has changed since filming.”

Rumpus Media Joint Managing Director, Emily Hudd, said: “Working with Romesh on Misadventures is always a joy wherever we go. We’re looking forward to him revealing some never seen before moments with the help of his brilliant and illuminating co-hosts, as well as re-living some of the highlights – whether it’s wild camping in the Saharan desert, making home brew in Zimbabwe or bathing in boiling mud in a fake volcano in Colombia.”

Misadventures from my Sofa (w/t), a 3×60’ series, is a Rumpus Media production for BBC Two. The Executive producers are Emily Hudd and Morgan Roberts. It was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller, BBC Two and Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment.
