Rumpus Media has hired Nadine Furlong as Head of Development, and promoted Lucy Rothery to Director of Operations.

Furlong joins from MultiStory Media, where as a development executive, she was responsible for generating formatted factual entertainment and factual series for all the major terrestrial and SVOD broadcasters, with an unannounced 8-part series greenlit.

Furlong began her career as a researcher at companies including ITV, Firefly and Brook Lapping, before moving on to producing across a number of live productions, including: So You Think You Can Dance and The Voice for BBC One, Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother for Channel 5 and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for ITV.

At betty, Furlong held roles including senior development producer, deputy head of development and acting head of development and was instrumental in bringing commissions such as: How to Get Fit Fast and Gone to Pot for Channel 4, and My 10k Holiday Home for ITV to our screens.

Rothery, formerly Head Of Production, joined Rumpus eight years ago and has been fundamental in the growth of the business, working across all of the company’s output.  From company defining shows like Asian Provocateur to Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Lucy has overseen the production of a wide range of output including travelogue, consumer, comedy and entertainment.

Prior to joining Rumpus Rothery worked at Princess Productions, Somethin’ Else and At It Productions.

Both will report to Rumpus Media’s joint MD’s, Emily Hudd and Iain Wimbush.

Nadine Furlong said: “The team at Rumpus have a reputation for flair and creativity in their productions that I admire. I’m hugely excited to share my passion and enthusiasm for developing inventive formats that span genres, and most importantly tell a story to the audience.”

Rumpus Media, Managing Director, Emily Hudd said: “Nadine has a proven track record for bringing entertaining and engaging factual entertainment formats to screen. Her wealth of expertise in not only development but production will be pivotal as we continue to grow and expand the business.

“Lucy is instrumental to the business and continues to oversee and drive forward all aspects of production as we continue to grow.”
