RTS Craft & Design Awards opens for entries

The Royal Television Society has opened entries for the RTS Craft & Design Awards 2026, with submissions open until Friday 4 September 2026.

Chaired by Emma Gormley, Managing Director of Daytime at ITV Studios, the winners will be announced at a ceremony held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Monday 7 December 2026.

Entries are now open across the 27 competitive categories, from the Casting Award and Production Design to Picture Enhancement, Director and Sound, “welcoming submissions that demonstrate innovation, skill and technical and production excellence.”

The RTS will again present the RTS Special Award and Outstanding Contribution Award at its discretion, which last year were presented to the Craft Team of Adolescence and vision mixer Hilary Briegel respectively.

Emma Gormley, Chair of the RTS Craft & Design Awards, said: “In a period of significant change for the television industry, it is more important than ever to recognise and celebrate the exceptional talent, creativity and craftsmanship behind the very best of UK programming. From the spark of an idea in development to the final stages of post-production, every programme results from remarkable collaboration, innovation and expertise.

“Returning as Chair this year, I am excited to see how the latest submissions reflect the industry’s continued evolution. New technologies, tighter budgets, creative approaches, and new ways of working are opening up fresh possibilities, while the extraordinary skill, ingenuity and dedication of the people behind the camera remain at the heart of everything we do.

“I look forward to celebrating work that not only demonstrates outstanding technical and creative excellence, but also reflects the resilience, ambition and world-class talent that continue to define UK television.”

The RTS strongly encourages submissions that reflect diversity within both the industry and wider society. When reviewing submissions, the judges are mindful of production differences, specifically the budgets and time scales involved. All entries should have been first delivered in the UK, whether by broadcast or online streaming, between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026.
