Former Framestore, Deluxe and Harbor staffer Marcus Alexander has joined Roundtable Post Production as Executive Director.
Alexander began working as an assistant editor 23 years ago before moving into the world of VFX when he joined Framestore. From there, he helped launch its digital intermediate division producing multiple tent-pole and independent titles including Cold Mountain, V for Vendetta and Last King of Scotland, before joining Deluxe to set up it’s digital post division with titles that included Hellboy 2 and Atonement. Alexander was then asked to relocate to New York to head up Deluxe NY DI before returning to the UK as a VFX Supervisor and Producer on multiple studio features ranging from Aquaman, Warcraft, Godzilla and Venom. In 2019 Alexander joined Harbor as their West Coast VP of Post, counting Nomadland amongst his credits before returning to the UK during the covid pandemic. After some time in the world of visualisation and virtual production in a managerial capacity, Alexander has returned to his post production roots to help expand Roundtable’s offering as they expand their division dedicated to scripted feature, episodic picture and sound finishing.
‘I am incredibly excited about the opportunities this offers the UK post industry.’ commented Alexander on his new position as Roundtable’s Executive Director. ‘The team at Roundtable Post enjoy a unique position as experts in the field of theatrical and broadcast documentary features and episodics. Roundtable are now setting their sights on bringing their experience and creativity to more scripted content. Utilising my background, I hope to help set the stage for Roundtable to provide a unique bespoke experience to a variety of scripted genres’
‘Roundtable Post has been on an incredible journey since opening in 2008’ added Ben Coulson, Roundtable Post’s Managing Director and Co-Owner. ‘From working on small one-off documentaries for BBC4 to now delivering theatrical features to cinemas worldwide and streaming platform content with an audience of millions, it’s only natural we are becoming more involved in Scripted projects so it is great to have Marcus’ incredible experience to support that growth’.
