Rohde & Schwarz is launching its new storage solution, SpycerNode, at IBC.
R&S says it is the first storage product on the M&E market to feature high performance computing (HPC) and combines an ‘easy-to-use’ interface, an HPC file system, erasure coding mechanisms and other functions. Rohde & Schwarz has also expanded its web-based device manager for use with R&S SpycerNode to simplify system configuration and maintenance.
The product stores files intelligently based on performance requirements and all storage tiers are presented under a single namespace. The storage solution can be scaled as needed.
The combination of a declustered array and erasure coding, in the event of disk failures, speeds up rebuilding compared with traditional hardware-based RAID storage. Critical error conditions are detected and errors rectified immediately. SpycerNode offers full redundancy even for single units.
The system is available in different configurations from 2U12 up to 5U84.
