Rockerdale Studios, the disabled-led content production company, has appointed Alex Martin as its first Head of Development.

Martin has moved to Rockerdale with a remit to “supercharge” its development slate. Prior to joining Rockerdale, Martin was Head of Development at Mighty Productions, where he created ‘Ex Rated’ for NBCU’s Peacock and developed the BBC1 quiz ‘!mpossible’.

Martin has also had senior development roles at Tuesday’s Child, Shine TV, CPL Productions and RDF. His development credits also include ‘Tipping Point’ (ITV), ‘Married at First Sight’ (C4), ‘Thronecast’ (Sky One) and ‘Sing If You Can’ (ITV).

Founded by CEO Stu Richards and COO Michelle Singer, Rockerdale Studios’ recent productions include Mission: Accessible (All4), Bobby and Harriet Get Married (Viceland and Comedy Central), Brad Boyz (All4) and the upcoming Dine Hard with Rosie Jones (All4).

“I love the Rockerdale ethos – their shows are clever and funny, the team is bursting with disruptive energy and they are unrelenting in their quest for success. I can’t wait to chop through those commissioner doors with my freshly sharpened Rockerdale axe.” said Alex Martin, Head of Development at Rockerdale Studios.

Alex is an ideas machine, and an absolute rascal: in short, he’s the perfect Rockerdale hire” said CEO Stu Richards of Rockerdale Studios.

Rockerdale Studios recently joined Channel 4’s Indie Growth Fund.
