The Financial Times is reporting that Banijay is currently considering a takeover of either the whole of  ITV or its studio arm, ITV Studios.

The FT, citing “people familiar with the situation”, reports that Banijay has held early stage talks with ITV.

Earlier this year, Reuters reported that ITV was in “early stage” talks with All3Media owner, RedBird IMI to merge the two companies’ production businesses.

Banijay Entertainment houses over 130 production companies across 21 territories and delivers over 170,000 hours of content each year including Survivor, Big Brother, Peaky Blinders, MasterChef, Rogue Heroes, Mr Bean and Black Mirror among others.

ITV Studios has 60 labels in 12 countries producing hits including Mr Bates Vs The Post Office, Fool Me Once and The Voice.
