Channel 5 has commissioned Glasgow based indie, Raise The Roof Productions and Motion Content Group for a double order of programming featuring Kate Humble.

In Kate Humble: My Little Farm, TV presenter and author Kate Humble, takes viewers on a  journey through the ups and downs of life on her little farm in the Wye Valley and there’s also a new series of A Country Life for Half The Price, an aspirational life change series in which Kate Humble helps families desperate to leave the rat race behind and radically transform their quality of life.

In every 4 x 60-minute episode of Kate Humble: My Little Farm, Humble will show the joy of looking after her family of animals and cooking up an array of dishes from the kitchen garden.  She’ll meet local producers and visit neighbouring farms and talk about the flora and fauna around the farm – from wildlife to birds, plants to hedgerows.

A Country Life for Half The Price returns with 8×60 minute episodes plus 4×60 minute revisits.

Kate Humble said; “Not only am I delighted to continue to help people looking for their dream lives in the country, I will now be able to share my knowledge from the last 10 years since I’ve owned my own little farm. I’ve learned so much, met wonderful people who have inspired me and done things I never dreamed I’d be able to do.  Both these series will feature many inspiring people (as well as the joys and challenges of country life), which I hope will equally inspire and delight viewers.”

Andrew Jackson, Creative Director, Raise the Roof Productions who is Executive Producer on both series said: “We are grateful to Channel 5 for this double order and are excited to be working again with Kate to shine a light on her own Little Farm as well as her experience to help others. Her passion for the country is clear.”

Emma Westcott, Commissioning Editor, Channel 5 said “We are pleased to welcome Kate back to Channel 5 and have her open the doors to her little farm once again for our audiences to enjoy a slice of the good life. Also to have her return for ‘A Country Life’ and help those looking for a better sort of life to achieve their dreams.”

Melanie Darlaston, Executive Producer, Motion Content Group added: “These little slices of the good life are a real tonic. Kate’s enthusiasm and love for the outdoor life is infectious. I can imagine a lot of viewers will want to up sticks and join her!”
