Production music publisher FreshTracks Music is launching a UK operation, helmed by former Global Head of BMG PM and Universal PM UK chief John Clifford.
As Managing Director, Clifford is tasked with building the UK team and label partners. Alongside its own repertoire, FreshTracks Music UK will sub-publish select quality Production Music from international labels, expanding the offering of the wider FreshTracks Music network that already operates in 10 European countries
Like the rest of the FreshTracks network, the business is powered by a proprietary search platform – created in-house by a team of developers at parent company Studio Fontana – a search and discovery tool for finding, reporting and licensing production music for TV, film and advertising.
Following his previous role as EVP & Global Managing Director of BMG Production Music, long-serving PM industry executive and Production Music Association board member, Clifford founded his consultancy business True Road Music, that he will continue to run alongside his new post at FreshTracks Music UK.
FreshTracks founder Martin Nedved co-owns music company Studio Fontana which encompasses innovative tech and a team of more than 50 people across 10 European countries. SF hosts a catalogue of copyrights from leading international production music labels and is known as a leading production music provider in Central and Eastern Europe, especially the Czech Republic where it is headquartered. Nedved also chairs the industry trade body IPMG (International Production Music Group) and co-founded AI music tech start-up AIMS API.
John Clifford, Founder of True Road Music and Managing Director of FreshTracks Music UK says: “After decades in the Production Music industry and a year working with many other great businesses via True Road, more than ever I’m looking for talented and innovative partners who marry the music at the core of our business with progressive technology and people.
“Over some three decades, the Studio Fontana and FreshTracks Music businesses have evolved in a continually impressive way. I’m proud to lead the new UK division in this vital chapter in the FreshTracks expansion, and I look forward to welcoming new colleagues, label partners and clients.”
Martin Nedved, Co-Owner of Studio Fontana adds: “Combining Studio Fontana’s strong and established operation and John’s exceptional track record in the UK market and beyond, along with our superior technology platform, puts the FreshTracks Music UK business in a strong position that I have no doubt will grow with stunning quality and quantity.”
