Plimsoll Productions, an ITV Studios company has promoted Alan Eyres to oversee development across the newly rebranded Plimsoll Studios,

The company behind the global Netflix event Skyscraper Live and BBC David Attenborough series Secret Garden has been reorganised around five creative divisions: Natural History & Adventure, Live, Entertainment, Family & Kids and Digital, reflecting the breadth of its creative ambitions and expanding global slate.

Eyres has been promoted from Head of Plimsoll USA to Chief Development Officer. He will continue to report directly to Founder and CEO Grant Mansfield.

Grant Mansfield, Founder and CEO of Plimsoll Studios, said: “Alan has done a stellar job since joining us three years ago, helping to develop and executive produce some of our best and boldest titles, including Skyscraper Live and Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston. His new role puts him in a pivotal creative position at Plimsoll Studios, giving him strategic oversight of a hugely exciting, ambitious and diverse development slate.”

Alan Eyres added: “In an on-demand world where audiences have unprecedented choice, only the biggest and boldest ideas are able to break through. I’m thrilled to be playing a role in a production company synonymous with creatively audacious and ambitious projects across multiple genres.”

As part of the reorganisation, Plimsoll Studios has also created two new creative divisions. The Family & Kids division will be led by Creative Directors Alex Ranken and Ged Mansfield, while the company’s Digital division—established last year as part of its long-term growth strategy, which collaborates with ITV Studios’ global digital initiatives, including Zoo 55 and Studio 55—continues its expansion with the appointment of Neil Warwick as Senior Executive.

Warwick joins from Aardman Animations, where he spent more than a decade working on the studio’s digital business. Rising to Digital Creative Producer, he built Aardman’s YouTube ecosystem. As producer and co-director, Warwick launched the successful digital series Learning Time with Timmy, which has generated more than 70 million views to date, alongside Timmy Tunes and Shaun the Sheep. His organic content strategy for Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon outperformed the film’s paid promotional campaign, driving more than 300,000 trailer views in a single weekend.

Plimsoll’s COO and CFO, Jonathan Jackson, who oversees the company’s commercial digital strategy, said: “Exploiting Plimsoll’s growing catalog of IP in the digital space plus creating new content is a key strategic priority for the company. Neil has done an incredible job building a digital presence for Aardman and we are confident he’ll do the same for Plimsoll.”

Other recent credits include Nightmares of Nature with Blumhouse Television for Netflix, the feature documentary Horse Power for IMAX and A Real Bug’s Life for Disney+. This summer, the company will premiere Nat Geo/Disney+’s Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston and ITV’s Force of Nature.
