Pinewood Group has launched its own employment programme named Behind the Screen, following the success of the Government Kickstart Scheme launched in 2021.

The Behind the Screen trainee programme is designed to help people who are currently out of work take their first step into the world of film and TV. The placements will provide people with on-the-job learning, work experience, and the support they need to kick off their career in the industry.

Placements are paid, six months long and work across our TV, Post Production, Health and Safety and Operations departments.

Ruth Moss, Director of Human Resources, Pinewood Group said: “Helping people to develop their careers is an important priority at Pinewood and the launch of our own ‘Behind the Screen’ trainee programme demonstrates our commitment to encouraging new entrants to our industry. We are committed to ensuring the success for
those who join our programme and look forward to welcoming them to the Studios”.

Pinewood Group has employed four people in this first round of applications who have all started their post. The trainee programme has been advertised and candidates were selected in partnership with the Jobcentre Plus.
