Passion Planet is producing five-part natural history series – Evolution Earth – showing how wildlife is adapting to new environments, as a result of climate change.
Love Nature has partnered with PBS in the US and European broadcaster Arte.
The show will use an “investigative podcast style of narration,” taking a look at the ingenuity of wild species to adapt to bigger storms, longer droughts and warming oceans, while suggesting how humans may also need to adapt to the global changes around us.
Evolution Earth will premiere on Love Nature’s linear and streaming platforms around the world; PBS in the US, Arte in France and Germany; and on Sky Nature in the UK and Italy. Blue Ant International oversees international licensing opportunities outside of commissioning territories.
David Allen is directing and is series producing, together with Oliver Twinch. Executive producers are James Manfull for Love Nature. vp, multiplatform programming and head of development Bill Gardner for PBS and head of factual Hélène Coldefy for Arte.
Televisual’s upcoming Summer issue will feature an in-depth look at how natural history story-telling is evolving in the world of TV.
