Passion Pictures has hired former Wall to Wall Production Executive, Charlotte Howard-van Gool, as Head of Production while Trevor Lopez de Vergara, from sister company Keo Films, is to become Director of Production, as the group bolsters its in-house production team to support its rapidly expanding slate.
Lopez role as Director of Production will cover all factual within the group: Passion Documentaries; Passion Planet; and Keo Films. He moves from Keo Films where he served as Head of Production with credits including Once Upon a Time in Iraq (BBC2), Lucy the Human Chimp (C4/HBO Max) and Chimp Empire (Netflix), narrated by Mahershala Ali.
Howard-van Gool joins from Wall to Wall where she served as a Production Executive, with recent credits including The Aids Tapes (BBC2), Will Young: Losing My Twin Rupert (C4), and Becoming You (Apple TV) narrated by Olivia Colman. She has experience working on highly sensitive and compliance-heavy series, filmed around the world and delivering to a variety of broadcasters such as ABC, HBO Max and Nat Geo. Prior to Wall to Wall, Charlotte worked at Brook Lapping as a Production Executive for four years working on productions including Norma Percy’s series Obama – Inside the White House.
The department is led by Founder Andrew Ruhemann and Creative Managing Director David Moulton.
Having recently announced former BBC commissioner Hamish Fergusson as Creative Director is to join Head of Factual Amy Foster, the department is rapidly expanding with an ambitious slate covering new ground. The Territory and Anastasia were both being shortlisted at the 95th Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature Film and Best Documentary Short Film respectively.
