Pact has agreed new terms of trade with ITV that govern ITV’s payments to producers for their VOD uses and licence fees when ITV puts indie content on their secondary channels.
Pact successfully argued both to retain payment from Day 1 for VOD use of programmes and negotiated a pence per click that eventually rises to 3.5ppc – a higher rate than any other PSB.
Where ITV takes up an option to put a producer’s programme on one of their secondary channels (ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4), set fees have been agreed that compensate the producer. Previously, there were no agreed fees which meant some indies lost out. The level of the fees depends on the number of transmissions or play weeks that ITV takes as well as the duration of the term.
Details of the VOD and Secondary Licence terms can be found on the Pact website.
