Outpost VFX (Foundation, Sinners, The Naked Gun) has appointed veteran VFX Supervisor Andy Hargreaves to its London team.
Hargreaves’ career has seen him deliver major productions amongst some of the UK’s leading creative teams, including Dneg and the award-winning team at MPC Episodic.
He is best known for his work as VFX Supervisor on the acclaimed series Prehistoric Planet, for which he was nominated for awards by the HPA and the Royal Television Society. Prior to that he took up VFX Supervisor and CG Supervisor duties on productions including The Irregulars, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and Marvel’s Inhumans. He most recently oversaw VFX for the upcoming Amazon series, Anansi Boys.
Hargreaves said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Outpost having long been an admirer of the quality and scope of the work that’s produced here. It’s clear that we also share the same ethos of creating a great environment for artists and clients, so it’s brilliant to see the studio continuing to go from strength to strength.
“For me, this job is as much about the people, the relationships and the creative journey as it is about the final pixels on screen. I’ve always believed that the best work is created by people who love what they do and love to collaborate, whether that’s working with your team in house or with your clients.”
Hargreaves’ appointment at Outpost VFX’s London facility follows those of Snow White VFX Supervisor Sebastien Raets and VFX Producers Olivia Bond and Sanchia Currie. He has begun work immediately on a lead vendor award for a major upcoming episodic production.
Rachel Matchett, UK Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy to Outpost VFX. His keen approach to creating a positive environment for artists and clients is always evident, and we’re really pleased to add another highly experienced creative leader to our UK team. His popularity amongst the teams he’s been a part of over the years speaks volumes about his character and his commitment to delivering exceptional work.”
