Absolute Post has hired Danny Duke to lead its film and TV department.

Formerly a Board Member of Outpost VFX in Bournemouth, Duke will spearhead the department and expand Absolute’s creative VFX expertise to new markets especially focusing on long form projects.

Graduating with an MA in 3D Animation from the NCCA, Duke has spent time in both Games Development and Visual Effects, with credits across both disciplines including: Star Wars, Harry Potter, James Bond & Jurassic World titles among many others.

Of his move to Absolute, Duke said: “More than 90% of Post Production and VFX in the UK comes out of Soho’s vibrant and creative companies, of which Absolute has been a firm fixture for 15 years; delivering beautiful, visual content for a wide array of commercials clients and top end brands. I’m incredibly excited to cement my place in London’s creative community by joining the Absolute family.
“Absolute’s development of their features and broadcast division last year, along with an innovative approach to pipeline and technology makes Absolute an incredible and forward-thinking team. With projects like American Animals and Cary Fukanaga’s Maniac behind the team I’m looking forward to developing our slate of projects further in the coming months”.

CEO Dave Smith said: “Danny’s extensive experience and knowledge make him the natural person to lead Absolute’s film division into its next phase – we are delighted to have him join the team.”
