Noel Clarke and Jason Maza’s Unstoppable Film and Television has teamed up with film-funding platform, Genera, to back the worldwide production of new shorts with a £250,000 fund.
Genera was founded by Christian Parton and launched in April 2017 and has, to date, provided funding for over two-dozen short films worldwide. The £250k fund combines direct and indirect funding through cash prizes and production services.
Noel Clarke and Jason Maza, directors of Unstoppable, said of the plan: “Short films are notoriously difficult to find funding for, so we were immediately excited by what Genera represents – a no strings attached short film funding process, that only offers support to film makers when they require, allowing them to be truly independent. Unstoppable has always consistently been at the forefront of discovering new talent and giving opportunities to short film makers will hopefully help uncover the filmmakers of the future.”

Both companies aim to widen the scope of Genera’s funding rounds, and increase the exposure to a larger audience. Plus, as well as shorts, an ambitious expansion plan is underway to include a development round for feature films and TV within the first six months.
