Northern Irish indie Green Inc is to open a new office in the Republic of Ireland.

Based in Dublin, Green Inc. Republic of Ireland will allow Green Inc. to continue to operate in the European Union (EU) and have access to the Single Market following Britain’s split from the EU on January 31st, 2020.

Green Inc. Republic of Ireland will act as a subsidiary business to Green Inc.’s main Belfast operation, serving as a regular operational base for domestic Republic of Ireland commissions from broadcasters including RTÉ, Virgin Television Ireland and TG4.

Green Inc. specialises in entertainment and lifestyle formats, including ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ – a coproduction with Kite Entertainment for Virgin Television Ireland; BBC2 blue-chip series ‘The Many Faces of…’; and live RTÉ series ‘Crimecall’, coproduced with Rare TV.

The launch of Green Inc. Republic of Ireland comes on the back of Green Inc.’s recent RTÉ One commission ‘High Road Low Road’ (working title), a new format that will see different pairs of celebrity friends or colleagues embark on a holiday destination or city break where each traveller will get to enjoy a very different vacation experience. Green Inc. was also recently commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland to produce new original format ‘Tricked Out Tractors’.

Stephen Stewart, MD of Green Inc., said: “Brexit is still a work in progress and no-one knows how it will end. The launch of Green Inc. Republic of Ireland future-proofs us to continue what we’ve been successfully doing for over 20 years with our friends in the south, and beyond.”
