The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is launching what it says is “the world’s first” live TV simulator sports production course.
The course will be run in partnership with HBS Broadcast Academy, the training arm of the Host Broadcaster of FIFA World Cups and major sports events in the world. The short course, which runs in September is the first of a number of sports production courses to be introduced in conjunction with HBS.
The short course mixes theoretical and practical learning and uses a ‘Live TV Simulator’ which simulates live studio galleries and OB trucks and includes two EVS video servers – enabling up to 16 isolated camera feeds for ingest/playout, instant replay and slow-motion tools and a video switcher that can be used by multiple trainees simultaneously
