Netflix and RED Production Company have announced new cast joining Stay Close including Eddie Izzard, Jo Joyner (Ackley Bridge,Ordinary Lies), Daniel Francis (Small Axe, Once Upon A Time), comedian Andi Osho (Line of Duty), Bethany Antonia (Get Even) Rachel Andrews (Butcher Boy), and Poppy Gilbert (The Pale Horse, Call the Midwife).

They join previously announced names including Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage and Sarah Parish, rounding out the cast for the latest adaptation of Coben’s best-selling novel Stay Close.

Eddie Izzard takes on the role of Harry – a small-town lawyer and defender of the disenfranchised residents of Livingstone – who has been like a father figure to Megan over the years. Jo Joyner is Erin Cartwright, a quick witted, highly observant Police Detective and Broome’s ex-wife. Daniel Francis will play Dave Shaw, a doting father to his three children and engaged to Megan. Andi Oshois cast as Simona, a retired ex-army sergeant who’s now pregnant with her first child. Bethany Antonia plays Megan and Dave’s eldest daughter Kayleigh Shaw and Rachel Andrews is Bea, Kayleigh’s best friend. They are each other’s greatest ally, co-conspirator and support mechanism. Also joining the cast is seemingly sweet young couple Poppy Gilbert as Barbie and HyoieO’Grady as Ken.

Nicola Shindler, Harlan Coben, Danny Brocklehurst, Richard Fee and Netflix, the team behind hit The Stranger {which also starred Richard Armitage}, 2018’s Safe and The Five{Sky/Netflix} collaborate on their fourth drama. Based on Harlan Coben’s bestselling novel of the same name Stay Close goes into production Spring 2021.

Stay Close is the latest Netflix project for Harlan Coben, as part of his current five-year deal with the streamer to develop 14 of his titles into film and TV dramas, which includes Polish original The Woods, Spanish original The Innocent starring Mario Casas and directed by Oriol Paulo, the film Six Years, written and directed by David Ayer, and Gone for Good, which is currently filming in France.

Stay Close is a RED Production Company (a STUDIOCANAL company) production commissioned for Netflix.  The executive producers of the new eight-part series created by Harlan Coben are Nicola Shindler (Finding Alice, Happy Valley, It’s A Sin), writers Harlan Coben (The Woods) and Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic, Come Home), and Richard Fee (The Stranger, Prey).

Juliet Charlesworth (Happy Valley, Traces) is series producer and Daniel O’Hara (The Stranger, Brassic) is lead director and an executive producer. Sheila Nortley produces with Lindy Heymann as director for block two. Filming will take place in and around Manchester and the North West of England.
