Netflix has invested in new indie, Broke and Bones, set up by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones.

According to a report in Deadline, the deal has been months in the making with Netflix initially taking a relatively small interest but having the option to eventually take full control of the production company for about $100m.

Brooker and Jones left their Endemol Shine backed indie, House of Tomorrow, earlier in the year. Broke and Bones is currently staffing up with former Roughcut exec Jon Petrie in as head of comedy and Bandersnatch VFX producer Russell McLean in as producer.

Netflix will get exclusivity over new Broke and Bones projects but that will not include the Black Mirror franchise as that is still owned by Banijay’s Endemol Shine.
