The BBC and A+E Media Group have commissioned The Rap Game UK for a sixth series.

Coming to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer later in 2024, the sixth series of the RTS and BAFTA nominated programme will once again see Krept, Konan and DJ Target return in a search to find the UK’s best unsigned rapper from a group of talented artists who are competing “for the prize of a lifetime.”

The rappers will compete in a series of challenges aimed at testing their musical, lyrical and performance abilities. All of this will culminate in a £20,000 cash prize and mentorship scheme to help the winning artist create, and launch, their own music after the contest ends.

Across the series, the artists will be mentored by some of the biggest names in the UK music scene, with series 5 seeing guest appearances from M Huncho, Rimzee, Chip, K-Trap and more.

Nasfim Haque, Head of Content for BBC Three says: “BBC Three and iPlayer are proud to be backing new talent from all across the UK as a brand new series returns which promises to showcase the very best emerging rappers in the land.”

Trent Williams-Jones, Executive Producer of The Rap Game says: “It’s great to be back working with the BBC on the sixth season of The Rap Game UK and we’re incredibly proud to be making this show. Season 5 was our most regionally and musically diverse series yet with plenty of twists thrown in and once again, we’re looking for a rich mix of talented artists with authentic voices on our search for the UK’s best unsigned rappers. We’re excited to see what new talent will emerge!”

Ninder Billing, VP, Unscripted International Co-Productions, A+E Media Group says: “A+E Media Group is proud to celebrate the ground-breaking success of The Rap Game UK with our brilliant partners at the BBC and Naked. The Rap Game is a show like no other that celebrates magnificently talented artists who compete to become tomorrow’s rap legends.”

The Rap Game UK, based on the US music format, is produced by Naked (a Fremantle label) and was created and is distributed by A+E Media Group.

The Rap Game UK (6 x 60′) is made by Naked West for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. It was commissioned by Nasfim Haque, Head of Content BBC Three and Catherine Catton, Senior Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment. Trent Williams-Jones and Steve Early are Executive Producers for Naked and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Patrick McMahon.
