Long running BBC comedy panel show, Mock the Week, is to draw to a close after the upcoming autumn season on BBC2.

The show, hosted by comedian Dara Ó Briain, is to end after 21 series and 200 episodes.

The show began in 2005 and has featured a host of stand up talent over the years including Hugh Dennis, Sarah Millican, Frankie Boyle, Zoe Lyons and Chris Addison.

Mock the Week co-creator, Dan Patterson, said: “It’s been announced that the next series of Mock the Week will be the last after 17 great years on the BBC. Desperately disappointing but hopefully we will resurface again soon. Huge thanks to Dara and Hugh and all the wonderful performers over the years. It’s been a privilege.”

The show’s production company, Angst said: “”We’re naturally hugely disappointed that Mock The Week is coming to an end and hope that we will be able to resurface somewhere some day in the future.”
