Channel 4 has ordered a third and fourth series of chat show, The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan,  co-produced by Expectation and Gilligan’s production company Momo G.

Mo Gilligan was awarded a BAFTA in the Entertainment Performance category in 2021 for the series and it will return for its second Channel 4 run later this year.

The series features games, sketches, music and chat. Star guests who have appeared on the show include Riz Ahmed, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, Tyson Fury, Jack Whitehall, David Walliams, Martin Freeman, KSI, Aisling Bea, Steve Coogan and Lily Allen.

The double-order comprises two 8 x 60’ series, commissioned for Channel 4 by Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment and Tom Beck, Commissioning Editor and Head of Live Events at Channel 4. Executive Producers are Ben Wicks and Rhe-an Archibald for Expectation and Pollyanna McGirr and David Geli for Momo G.

Gilligan will also extend his The Lateish Accelerator Programme in collaboration with Channel 4 and Expectation, providing paid production roles to drive forward the careers of talented individuals within the industry from underrepresented groups.

Tom Beck, Commissioning Editor, Channel 4 says: “Mo is a creative force of nature and we’re so pleased and proud to unleash him on Friday nights again. I can’t wait to hear what he and the team have planned for the next two series.”
