Belgian format house Glow Media has agreed a multi-territory partnership with First Dates format producer Warner Bros. International Television Production to produce the freshly launched format The Golden Egg, as premiered yesterday at Mip TV.

WBITVP will represent the format in selected WBITVP territories, including the UK and Australia.

The Golden Egg is a Free Kings format piloted for Belgian pubcaster VRT. The gameshow sees 100 objects displayed in an immersive studio. The contestants must attempt to find the Golden Egg, the most valuable item, amongst them to take home the largest cash prize.

Andrew Zein, SVP Creative, Format Development and Sales, WBITVP said: “the idea and the pilot blew us all away from the first moment Glow Media presented it. We couldn’t be more delighted to partner with them on bringing this to broadcasters across our territories.”

Siobhan Crawford, Glow Media said “Belgian content is just so important to the international market and this format just resonates with audiences. Warner are trusted partners plus have an excellent track record with building the brand of Cash or Trash.”

Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) has a network of local production operations of 21 production companies in 13 territories. Its UK labels are Wall to Wall, Twenty Twenty and Ricochet. WBITVP’s production operations are responsible for original programming, as well as local versions of formats owned and/or controlled by Warner Bros., such as First Dates, The Bachelor, The Repair Shop, FBoy Island, Who Do You Think You Are? and Glow Up.
