Mentorn Media’s blue light series, Traffic Cops, is to return for a brand-new series on Channel 5.

Heading into its twelfth series, the show will be embedding with the officers at the North Yorkshire Road Policing Unit for the first time in three years. Cameras will go behind the scenes and join them on shift as they work to tackle road crime.

The series will be presented by Jamie Theakston.

Tayte Simpson, Executive Producer, commented: “We’re delighted to be returning to North Yorkshire, the UK’s largest county.  It’s been three years since we were last filming with the North Yorkshire Police and we’re back with some of most dramatic incidents we’ve ever filmed – from a massive drug bust, to a heart stopping high-speed pursuit with an incredibly tense but successful outcome for North Yorkshire Police.”

Simon Meehan, Series Director, added: “We’re incredibly excited to be back with the team at North Yorkshire RPU. It’s been three years since we were last there, and so much has changed. Viewers can expect the Traffic Cops they all know and love, with some highly charged moments as they tackle road crime in the 3,000 square miles of North Yorkshire.”

Traffic Cops is a 20 x 60 series by Mentorn Media for Channel 5. It was executive produced by Tayte Simpson with Simon Meehan as Series Director. The series will be distributed by Passion Distribution.
