ITV chief executive, Carolyn McCall, has said that the upcoming summer series of reality hit, Love Island, is in doubt due to the ongoing pandemic.

The ITV2 show was forced to cancel its 2020 run out as it became logistically impossible to produce the show in a COVID-safe way.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Media Show, McCall said “we will want to put Love Island on air because it’s been off air for a little while [after the 2020 cancellation]. We’re looking at all our options at the moment because the pandemic makes it hard.”
