Lightbox, the production outfit founded by Oscar winner Simon Chinn (Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man) and Emmy winner Jonathan Chinn (LA 92, Fantastic Lies), has been commissioned by Investigation Discovery to produce a feature length documentary telling the true story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
Gypsy’s Revenge (1×120’) is the story of mother Dee Dee Blanchard and her daughter Gypsy Rose. To the outside world, Dee Dee was a warm-hearted and devoted single mum and full time care giver to her daughter who’d been dogged by terrible illnesses – from leukemia to brain seizures to muscular dystrophy – since birth.
So, when the status update on Dee Dee’s Facebook page said: "That bitch is dead”, friends and neighbours were perplexed and concerned. “Gypsy’s Revenge explores the case that rocked a community.”
Gypsy’s Revenge (1×120’), is directed by Jesse Vile. It is produced by Sophie Cunningham and the line producer is Peter Miller. Executive producers are Suzanne Lavery, Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn for Lightbox and Eugenie Vink for Investigation Discovery.
