Girls creator Lena Dunham and co writer Jenni Konner are to make a US version of Julia Davis’ Baby Cow sitcom Camping for HBO.

Jennifer Garner (Dallas Buyers Club, Alias) will star as Kathryn,  a controlling L.A. mom (Vicki Pepperdine’s role in the original).

The half-hour comedy follows married couple Kathryn and Walt, who have planned a delightful weekend “back to nature” for Walt’s 45th birthday. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister, holier-than-thou ex-best friend, and a free-spirited tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten.

Konner and Dunham, will serve as writers, executive producers and showrunners of the series.

Konnor and Dunham’s production team, A Casual Romance, will be joined by Davis as an executive producer for Hush Ho; Christine Langan as an executive producer for Baby Cow Productions; Ilene S. Landress is also an executive producer.
